Tax Disclaimer

At Brumby Pay, we believe in clarity and compliance, especially when it comes to tax.

Our platform rewards voluntary payments through fixed, non-cash milestone rewards when platform-wide payment milestones are reached. These rewards are not issued based on individual invoice value or user targeting, and are fully funded by Brumby Pay from pooled commission revenue.

While Brumby Pay does not provide financial or tax advice, the following information outlines general tax considerations for both creditors and recipients of rewards.

For Creditors (Businesses Using Brumby Pay):

  • Brumby Pay charges a commission that includes both platform service and milestone reward fulfilment.

  • This commission may be treated as a bundled taxable supply.

  • GST is charged on the full commission amount where applicable.

  • Commission expenses may be tax-deductible as a business expense, depending on your accounting method, industry, and structure.

  • You do not fund individual rewards, Brumby Pay issues them automatically at predefined milestones using pooled funds.

We recommend seeking accounting advice to determine if any reporting obligations apply.

For Reward Recipients (Debtors / Payers):

  • If you receive a milestone reward through Brumby Pay, it may have tax implications depending on your business type and how the reward is used.

  • For individuals, most non-cash rewards are not taxable unless connected to business activity.

  • For businesses and sole traders, rewards may be treated as income, promotional rebates, or non-cash benefits depending on their nature and use.

  • Brumby Pay rewards are not subject to GST, and Brumby Pay does not issue invoices or statements to reward recipients.

We recommend seeking accounting advice to determine if any reporting obligations apply.
